Not all addiction recovery centers are created equal. Some fail to acknowledge that the most effective and efficient way to provide addiction recovery treatment is to provide every client with a strategy for recovery that incorporates the specific details of a client’s situation and applies treatment accordingly. At our drug rehab clinic, we are dedicated to ensuring our clients get the treatment they require.
For some clients, that means providing them with dual diagnosis mental health treatment. Dual diagnosis mental health treatment is appropriate when a client is struggling with both an addiction and a co-occurring mental health disorder.

This situation is especially intense because the client may not even be aware that they are dealing with a co-occurring mental health disorder.
DUAL DIAGNOSIS
However, despite the fact that they may not be aware of the co-occurring mental health disorder, according to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, nearly half of those citizens of the United States who are struggling with addiction are also dealing with a co-occurring mental health disorder.
SUPERVISED DETOX
When a client receives treatment for the addiction but not the co-occurring mental disorder, they are at a greater risk of relapse. This is because a client who has had their addiction treated but has not received treatment for the co-occurring mental health disorder may continue to experience the symptoms of the co-occurring disorder even after they have left our drug rehab clinic.
AFTERCARE SERVICES
In instances like this, it is necessary to ensure that the client receives treatment for the co-occurring disorder, because if they don’t, they run the risk of returning to substance abuse in order to self-medicate the symptoms of the co-occurring disorder.
